    "It is a great book but the description was very misleading. I thought I was getting the doll because it said it was a set but it only came with the book. It's marketed to be a choice other than Elf on the Shelf but doesn't do much good if you don't have a Mary. Why would you even sell it without the doll?"

    My Daughter Loved It!!!

    "My daughter loved this Mary on the Mantel. We started it leading up to Christmas as a way to prepare for the coming of Christ. My daughter woke up every day asking where Mary was and loved searching for her. Mary had a little activity every day for her to accomplish. We said prayers, we learned a lesson, we made Christmas cards for people, we did “extra” chores! It was all done in the spirit of love and serving others. Can’t wait to do it again this year!"

    ABSOLUTELY fantastic. Create a new tradition!

    "This is a WONDERFUL alternative to the (frankly creepy) Elf on the Shelf. The book is an easy read with cute illustrations that give children ideas for how to do acts of service. We created a whole game based on the book and the doll. I started the game by hiding ""Mary"" somewhere in the house that had a mess nearby. The children all hunted until one found her, and that person got to clean up the mess as an act of service. We crossed that with The Giving Manger, which meant that child could also place a piece of straw in the manger for the act of service. That child then got to hide Mary for the next day's hunt. Whoever finds her does the act of service that is (usually obviously) nearby. My children have LOVED this, and I can see we will keep this tradition yearly. They all know that whoever finds her on Christmas Day gets to bring her the Baby Jesus doll and set them both on the mantel. Beautiful!"
