After years of scholarly labor and review, the first major update to the New American Bible (NAB) text in 20 years is approved for publication. The New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) accomplishes three major goals in Biblical scholarship: First, a more accurate translation aided by modern archeological and historical discoveries; second, a more consistent rendering of the Greek and Hebrew to more closely express the meaning of the original text; and third, revisions in the NABRE reflect changes in modern English usage of particular words (ex. "burnt offering" substituted for "holocaust").

Note:  The Bible readings used in the current missals & lectionaries & LOTH use an older version of the NAB translation that has now been updated in all the new NAB Catholic Bibles currently being printed.  For this reason, this NAB Bible will be close (but not exactly word-for-word) to the readings you will hear at Mass.  It is not possible to purchase an older NAB translation to exactly match the Mass readings, because they are no longer in print.

"I got this for my mom for Christmas, and she loves it! This is a truly beautiful Bible. The cover is so soft, and the pages are very premium. I love the maps that it has in the back of the places Jesus went, as well as Paul's 3 missions. There are also prayers in the back. I wish the footnotes could be a bit larger and perhaps more substantial, but if you are just reading the Bible itself, this is the perfect one."

I believe I actually bought this Bible from The Catholic Company. I read it everyday and LOVE this Bible. I am Catholic and have just recently discovered the the NABRE I have is copyright 2008 and there is a newer version; NABRE copyright 2010 and the translation is actually a little different. Could you possibly tell me if your In-Stock of this Bible is copyright 2010? Or still 2008? Also, is it possible for you to tell me what you may have in stock for NABRE copyright 2010?
