Love the Crucifix - but silver plating is wearing off!

"I wear the crucifix around my neck daily and the silver plating is wearing off the corpus, the insignia sign above the corpus, the medal insert on the back and very badly on the back side of the cross at the bottom. The plating is worn completely off in places exposing what appears to be a copper base. I'm just disappointed about this but wont' stop wearing it. I have to cover the medal part on the backside to prevent it from leaving a metallic stain on my shirt."
