A Very Comforting Book!

"This book is beautifully uplifting and comforting for those suffering, as it presents both the truths understood by the Catholic Church regarding the importance and power of joining our suffering to Christ, and contains many quotes from Scripture, the saints and holy men and women to back up the teaching that is presented. It is not a heavy or difficult read, and is best used for meditating and pondering the thoughts it presents. Chapters are mostly 2 to 4 pages long, with many of the pages containing only quotes. Written by a priest who worked closely with those who suffered, and edited by a woman who has gone through her own extensive suffering, it is filled with warmth and compassion and encouragement. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is suffering to any extent physically or emotionally from any cause. It won't take suffering away but it will help the sufferer understand what a gift his or her suffering can be for his/her own spiritual growth and for the salvation of other souls as well. The ministry and vocation of intercessory suffering is desperately needed in the world and the Church today, and this book will help people respond to that need!"
