The Brown Scapular is perhaps the most well known and recognized of the scapulars. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel instituted the Brown Scapular on July 16, 1251. For this reason the brown scapular is most closely associated with the Carmelites. The scapular is laminated to protect it from wear and tear. Images are slipped into small plastic folders. The brown scapular is a wonderful First Communion or Confirmation gift.

"I ordered 10 as I like to have back ups in case I forget to take off for shower or other problems. The first two I put on both pulled the connecting piece off so they only lasted one day. They are very poorly made and I would recommend no one buy them. Actually The Catholic Company should stop selling them as they are defective and should last more than one day. I should also interject that I have purchased many things from Catholic Company and this is the first problem. DO NOT BUY!!!!"
