After a finely detailed wax mold is expertly carved, porcelain is poured carefully, colored delicately, and fired painstakingly to make the lithophane. Light refracted through varying thickness in the porcelain achieves an evocative and lovely artistic image. When backlit by a bulb, the work of art becomes a distinctive way to lend a soft, warm glow to your sacred spaces.
