The patron saint of Ireland is also one of the most beloved saints of all time. Captured at the age of 14 from Scotland, St. Patrick was enslaved in Ireland. He learned the language and practices of the people there and at the age of 20 escaped after God told him to in a dream. Patrick would later become a priest, and then be ordained a bishop, only to be sent right back to Ireland--this time to bring the faith to the people there.
This mug displays a brief bio as well as Celtic imagery associated with St. Patrick, such as the shamrock, which was used to teach about the Holy Trinity. A portion of the Lorica of St. Patrick is also printed on the background!
