Fresco within the former dormitory of the Dominican monastery of San Marco in Florence, Italy. The Archangel Gabriel appears to Our Lady, crossing his arms in humble recognition of the role God has asked her to play in our salvation. She listens intently, eyes cast down in respect for the Angel of the Lord, before responding with her fiat.
