We designed this elegant statement necklace to celebrate the famous rose windows in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, with a symbolic meaning that inspires her faith.  It's a part of our proprietary jewelry line here at The Catholic Company. 

Rose windows represent an incredible architectural feat glorifying our God, and a reminder of the mysterious and spectacular ways He can bring beauty out of every circumstance if we surrender it to His care. 

In architecture, the rose (rosette) window is the shape of the openwork bay in the wall. A large circle of glass piercing a wall supporting many tons of stone is a characteristically Gothic and incredibly astonishing architectural feat. 

It is accomplished by a complicated crisscrossing of the opening with a visually delicate, but structurally strong, web of stone, which breaks the glass into smaller shapes in a symmetrical way, distributing weight equally across the entire circle. The rosettes of Notre Dame are among the best-preserved medieval stained glass windows in the world.

The "windows" are merely empty space within the stone until the glass brings them brilliance. Celebrate the mysterious and miraculous God we serve and the incredible ways he works in our lives with this beautiful sterling silver necklace and rose window pendant.

"I bought the necklace and earrings w/o the jewel inlay. (I wanted the jewel inlay but it was not available due to the fact that I procrastinated in buying this as a Christmas gift for my mother. ) I thought the chain would be too short however it rests just below or at collarbone level which turned out to be perfect!
