A moving blend of American history and prayer, The Prayer at Valley Forge depicts General George Washington, our first American President, in moment of quiet devotion during one of the most difficult periods of the Revolutionary War. 

The Our Father is elegantly overlaid in stylized calligraphy, inviting reflection, gratitude, and thanksgiving for God's providence  and the principles of our Founding Fathers.

We selected this work to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our nation. Originally painted by Henry Brueckner in the 1860s, it was later engraved by John C. McRae, in approximately 1870. It reflects a long-standing tradition in early American art, honoring both faith and perseverance through sacred and historical imagery.

We have chosen two of our handcrafted frames to compliment this striking piece. We've framed the 8" x 10" print in our Antique Gold Beaded Frame, beneath protective glass, and the 11" x 14" print in our satin finish Gold Bistro frame, beneath plexiglass.
